The days after the surgery, when your face is swollen and livid you will tend to think you will not look good. Actually, many patients get depressed after the surgery: this is normal and reasonable. But have for sure this will pass. Day by day your face will look better and your mood will improve too. In one or two weeks you will not have the appearance you got after the surgery.

However, cicatrisation is a low and gradual process. Some inflammation may be present for some months. It is probably that the final results will be totally seen after one year or more.
You could experiment some unexpected reactions form family and friends. They might say they do not see much difference in your face. Do not let this disappoint you: you surgeon and you will be at first the one who will notice the gradual change of your face.
